Downtown Decatur
So, 3rd shop I took my SUV into. First one was a transmission place. Ope, it's the transmission, gonna cost you 7k. second was the Ford dealership. Ope, nothing wrong, just needs a firmware update for a problem you don't have. Took it her because of a friend's recommendation. Staff are great and personable. They said they saw the transmission fluid is bad also (like the first place, Ford I guess is color blind). Suggested a flush first which may or may not kill it. 50/50 chance it would do damage and kill the transmission or make things better. I'm of the mindset that once you have brown Transmission fluid and shifting issues, is only a matter of time before it's gotta be rebuilt. Whatever, let's do the flush. If it's gonna die, it's gonna die. (130k miles on the SUV so yeah). Drove it home from Decatur to Conyers, no issues. Drove it on errands several times so far, no issues. Going to take it back in 2 weeks to see what the fluid looks like and if I experience any issues, but overall, these people seem trustworthy to me. They are now my shop of choice.
