Downtown Decatur
Yesterday I got a flat tire on my way to work from Dunwoody to Decatur. I took my car into Neighborhood Tire in downtown Decatur. After having my car all day, they called to say my tire had a hole in the side wall and it was unfixable. They related that I would have to buy a new tire that they could get in the next day. Because I wouldn't be back in Decatur for 2 days, I decided to take my car to Mr. Tire, right near my home in Dunwoody. They said they would look at my flat tire again to make sure it couldn't be fixed, before charging me for a new tire. After a short 90 minute wait, they related that they fixed my tire! The flat was not in the sidewall but on the bottom of the tire. The repair guy was great and had my tire back on my car in a jiffy. Because of my experience, they didn't charge me and I am grateful that they saved my day. I feel that I was misled by Neighborhood Tire. Before I left their location, I asked to look at my tire because they had marked it. The mark was on the bottom of the tire, not the side wall. I was in a time crunch so I didn't ask anymore questions and trusted their recommendation. I should have asked for a better explanation since they said it would cost $199 for a new tire. I'm glad I got a second opinion before paying for a new tire.
