The Clairemont Ave. location is just down the street from my apartment, so I decided to make an appointment there for an oil change. I went online and received an email that I believed to be confirmation for the date & time I requested; however, when I arrived I was told I did not have an appointment. Apparently it was not a “confirmation” email and despite being able to choose 2:00PM for that location on the website, I was told they do not take appointments after 12:00PM. The rep was rude about it but I decided to make an appointment while I was there for the following week. The second time I arrived I was told I didn’t have an appointment again (I guess she forgot to put it in the system). They still serviced my car but it was very annoying and for the amount of money I spent I can get better (and friendlier) customer service elsewhere. I will likely not be returning.

We bought 2 sets of tires from here about a year ago. We paid for the full warranty/insurance to protect us should we have a flat that can’t get repaired. As luck would have it, we got a flat the other day. We didn’t have an appointment but called before coming and we’re told that we could be worked in. That was a relief but we’re we told we’d have to leave the car with them and they couldn’t guarantee a finish time. Apparently the area of a tire that can be repaired has shrunk quite a bit over the years and of course our puncture was in the “side wall” and so a replacement would be needed. Insurance covers this but it ended up costing $85 to do this with full coverage ($30 for insurance on the replacement, $22 to install it, taxes and then disposal fees) there sure a lot of hidden costs in this “insurance” and doesn’t feel great to think you’re covered and then get this sort of bill. I wish I had a clue going into it and wish the staff would have given me an explanation either at the time of sale, or as I was going through my first claim with them. I was expecting to get a call at some point from them throughout the day. I sort of forgot about it and Googled their hours to make sure I’d have time to get the car and have it for the day after at least. They close at 5 and I called at 4:40 to see if they had a status report. I was told that my car was about to be finished and that I needed to get there to pick it up. I wish someone over there were more proactive in assisting with the process. I very much felt like an after though and a burden to them. Thus my 3 star review.

I’ve generally had a great experience here. The one gap - especially these days - is their waiting area situation. They play the TV extremely loud and keep it on old sitcoms, Nancy Grace or opinionated news stations - left or right - and they won’t mute it when asked. This definitely affects the customer service experience. Otherwise - really like the service and the manager and the communication - but a waiting area that’s difficult to remain in, work in, concentrate in, makes it hard.
